New drugs are being discovered all the time that will aid with chronic conditions and other health issues. However, the fact is that there are many natural nutrients that may help your overall health as well. One of these is L-Arginine. This nutrient has become extremely popular in recent years for its potential benefits for the heart. With millions of people affected with heart issues, it is an excellent time to research this nutrient further.
The fact is that a deficiency of L-arginine is extremely rare. The nutrient is found naturally in many types of food, such as meat, chicken, turkey, wheat, nuts and dairy items. However, your body is also capable of producing the nutrient. The key to knowing you should take it for heart health is knowing the potential benefits of the supplement.
L-arginine is used in a variety of functions throughout the body, including:
- The healing of wounds
- Aids the kidneys in removing waste from the body
- Helps to maintain both hormone and immune functions in the body
However, as a dietary supplement L-Arginine greatly aids a user’s heart health. It does this through a process that converts the nutrient into Nitric oxide once it is in the body. This substance helps in the relaxing of blood vessels and improves overall circulation. Additionally, there are some studies that have shown that the nutrient can improve the blood flow to and from the various arteries of your heart. As a result you may see a reduction of symptoms that are related to:
- Angina, or chest pain.
- Clogged heart arteries.
- Various causes of heart disease.
Due to the nutrient aiding circulation throughout the body there have been other benefits of L-arginine as well, which include:
- Aids in the reduction of erectile dysfunction
- Helps with chronic leg cramps
- A lowering of blood pressure
With the use of L-arginine, it has been proven to aid in patients who suffer from chronic heart issues. As always, you should consult your physician prior to using any new medication or supplement.
Recently I suffered by mild epical hypokinesia. I am a diabetic patient, using insulin, suffering from leg cramps, erectile dysfunction I use Viagra but not effective even at 100 mg. I am obese and my weight is 105 kg. Considering my health issues, please guide me whether I should use L-Arginine or not. (Erectile dysfunction-Viagra along with L- Arginine? muscle and leg cramps?)
If I use only L-Arginine can I get my erectile dysfunction treated?
Thanks
Thanks for the comment. I have posted an article addressing many of the issues you have mentioned in your comment and in is called ‘When to Take L-Arginine.’
My suggestion is to check with your physician to make sure that L-Arginine is compatible with other drugs you are currently taking but since L-Arginine is natural occurring amino acid that is in your body, in most cases it is safe to take with other drugs.
L-Arginine products increase the blood flow circulation which promotes faster healing, relief of aching muscles and a reduced risk of infection. One of the main benefits of L-Arginine is that it helps with erectile dysfunction.
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more question.
