L-arginine benifits far out weigh it possible side effects. Amino acids can be beneficial in helping the body to process and use many other nutrients and vitamins. One of the latest amino acids to be discussed is L-Arginine. This essential amino acid aids as a building block for the body to use protein. It has also been shown to help in a variety of other ways in increase the health of the body in these areas:
Cardiovascular Health
L-Arginine has been shown to help improve blood flow throughout the body, and this helps to keep your heart healthy. This can also have benefits in decreased blood pressure, helps to open clogged arteries, and can help to reduce the risks of blood clots and strokes.

Sara,
Thanks for visiting us. Currently or top rated L-Arginine product is Arginine Infusion and here is the review. Feel free to read the rest of the L-Arginine reviews here at L-Arginine Reviews.
Why is not this ProArgi-9 offered in unsweetened?? The stevia makes it way too sweet to tolerate for some people. It would be great to have an unsweetened variety.
Good Point! you may want to suggest it to the manufacturer’s.
I have read that L-arginine is not recommended in patients following an acute myocardial infarction. I had a stent put in and I want to use a sport recovery product that has 375 mg of L Arginine per 50 g. What is your opinion.
Hiddy, I would check with your Cardiologist to make sure he/she is okay with you taking the sport recovery product. The reason is there is typically other ingredients in those type of sports recovery products other than just L-Arginine
I have read your review on L-arginine and I want to ask you about Healthy Habits L-Arginine Super Cardio Complex. I have purchased some but have not used it. I bought Synergy Pro Argi-9+ (the jumbo size) and have taken it all, then I saw your website. I do have diarrihia, bloating and abdominal pain. However, my blood pressure has dropped and I don’t feel as anxious as I did. Should I keep taking L-Arginine?
Thanks for your comment. Another reader had a similar issue so I will post the same response I posted for them:
“A quick update on your post. I recently had a reader send me an email stating that they too had some adverse effects in terms of bowel issues. They discovered that the issue was the artificial sweeter found in some of the L-Arginine products. They decided to try Arginine Infusion because it contains a natural sweetener called Stevia. After the switch, they said that the bowel issues subsided. My point is that I wouldn’t give up using L-Arginine, I would suggest trying another brand. I hope this helps and that you have better luck with another L-Arginine product.”
Should I be taking extra vitamin D with ProArgi-9 since vitamin D is already included in proArgi?
Thanks for you response.
Unlike other types of vitamins, vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, which means the body can store it for long periods in the fatty tissues of your body if you get more than you need.
How much vitamin D you need each day depends on your age. Most Doctors recommend that children over the age of one, teens and adults up to age 60 need 600 international units (IU) of vitamin D. If you’re over 60, 600 IU is usually sufficient. In addition, Doctors suggest that dosages of vitamin D in the range of 2,000 to 5,000 IU per day are recognized as being extremely safe levels. Extremely high doses of 50,000 IU per day for several months can lead to hypercalcemia, according to registered dietitian Katherine Zeratsky of the Mayo Clinic.
Most L-Arginine products have around 2500 IU which should be a safe level and more than enough for your daily amount.
As always, consult with your doctor about the amount he or she would recommend for your individual needs.
